What this is, and what it is not. These are modelled ranges, not quotes. Every buyer on this page requires you to complete their own assessment before showing a price, so we cannot publish live figures. What this tool does reliably is rank the buyers — who tends to pay toward the top of the market and who tends to pay less — and put you one click from each of their real quotes. Treat the dollar bands as a sanity check on the offer you are given, not as a price to expect.

Tips to maximise your trade-in value in Australia

  • Unlock your device before selling — unlocked phones fetch 8–15% more. Under Australian law, carriers must unlock your phone at no charge once your contract is complete.
  • Battery health matters. Reebelo and Phonebot will reduce their offer if battery health is below 80%. Check in Settings → Battery → Battery Health on iPhone.
  • Factory reset completely and sign out of iCloud / Google account before sending or selling. Devices with activation locks are rejected or significantly devalued.
  • Document your device with photos before sending — protects you if the buyback company disputes the condition grade on arrival.
  • Brokers vs direct buyers. Regood doesn't buy your device itself — it's an agent that scans 100+ buyers and passes on the best offer, which can beat a single buyer's rate. You're relying on its buyer network rather than one company's price list.
  • In-store cash pays less, but pays today. Elephone and JB Hi-Fi quote in person. Walk-in buyers typically pay under the best online rate — you're trading some value for same-day cash and no postage. Elephone will also take damaged and carrier-locked devices that online buyers often reject.
  • Compare multiple quotes. Prices change regularly. Check Regood, Reebelo, OzMobiles and Phonebot directly before locking in — each has different demand cycles that affect pricing.
  • Keep the original box and accessories. Having original packaging can add A$15–35 to your offer on some platforms, particularly JB Hi-Fi.
