ℹ About Mighty Ape AU
The Australian arm of Mighty Ape, a Kogan Group retailer (sibling to Kogan.com and Dick Smith, both also tracked here). Best known for games, toys and collectibles, it runs a substantial refurbished phone catalogue through its marketplace, plus a Mighty Refurbished hub. Stock spans refurbished iPhones from the X to the 16 Pro Max, Galaxy S and Z Fold/Flip models and Pixels, listed alongside brand-new handsets in the same results.

Trust Score Breakdown
Checked: 5 October 2026
Why this vendor is unrated. No Trustpilot or ProductReview.com.au listing matched to the Australian operation (mightyape.com.au) was found. A Trustpilot profile exists for mightyape.co.nz, the New Zealand business, but we score Australian operations on Australian review evidence only — the same rule that governs how we rate every multi-market vendor on this site — so that profile is not applied here. Note also that a marketplace rating would measure the platform, not the refurbishers selling on it, which is the thing you actually need to judge.
Rubric components we can score: transparency 5/20, operations & legitimacy 16/20. The review aggregate is worth the remaining 50 points and cannot be calculated without qualifying platform data.
ProductReview.com.au
Not FoundScore components: 60% Review aggregate (Trustpilot 2× weighted) · 20% Refurb transparency · 20% Operations & legitimacy · Volume bonus (up to +10). Information only — not advice.
Vendor Policies
Warranty
Set by the individual marketplace seller, not by Mighty Ape. Platform terms and conditions and a help centre are published, but no single warranty term applies across refurbished stock.
↩ Returns
Platform returns are handled through the help centre. Check the seller’s own terms on the listing — the marketplace layer does not standardise them.
Grading System
No Mighty Ape grading scale exists. Condition words appear in listing titles — As New, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Acceptable, Refurbished — but each is written by the third-party seller, so the same word can mean different things on two listings in the same search. We counted at least seven distinct refurb sellers on one category page.
Shipping
Ships Australia-wide; most refurbished listings dispatch direct from the seller.
Notable: A marketplace, so the seller matters more than the storefront. Refurbished handsets here come from independent sellers — we saw Eclipse Technology, Tristar Online, Digital Store, Mobile World, Personal Digital and others on a single page — and the condition label, warranty and returns all come from whichever one you buy from. Refurbished and brand-new stock sit side by side in the same results, so read the title carefully: the same model appears as “Brand New” and “Acceptable Refurbished” at a $1,200 spread. Treat it the way you would eBay or Amazon Renewed: judge the seller, not the platform.
